Following on from a hugely successful Racing Season in 2018, MPS were delighted to be asked to go back to MPS director Ben Newman’s “roots” to be part of the development team for a new OEM GT3 Race Car.

The project sees MPS work with the World Famous Motorsport Manufacturer, McLaren, as they take their 720S Supercar and Modify it to suit the regulations for the homologated GT3 category of Endurance Racing.

With a vast amount of OEM Motorsport vehicle Development Experience from his previous role with Cosworth Electronics, MPS Director Ben Newman was brought in by the Woking based manufacturer to help with the development of the Chassis Electronics package within the new GT3 car.
MPS’ involvement saw such responsibilities as; advising on control systems strategies, advising on standard equipment and functionality vs paid extras, data logger configuration, dash display design and configuration, wiring loom design and liasing with loom manufacturers etc.

MPS then supported the project as it moved into it’s track testing phase, both on home shores at the world famous “Top Gear” Dunsfold test track as well as overseas in Europe and in the Middle East.

McLaren had selected Bosch Motorsport as it’s electronics package supplier and therefore MPS worked extensively with Bosch’s RaceCon and WinDarab calibration and data analysis software packages.
