MPS were delighted to take a historic Overall GT4 Win at the Prestigious Silverstone 500 event of the British GT Championship.

Continuing on with their consistently strong performances with their AMG GT4 within the Pro AM class of the Championship, MPS and the TPR Team applauded on emphatically as they watched their driver pairing of Nick Jones & Scott Malvern take the top step of the ‘Home of British Motorsport’s’ podium platform for not only their Pro-Am class but also the entire GT4 class of the grid.

Arguably the headline event of the season, the prestigious Silverstone 500 event is a 3 hour race with no set pit stop windows and minimal strategy regulations – a Race Engineering challenge that MPS Director Ben Newman relishes as it allows the strategy calls to have a significant impact on the race.

The team turned up yet again to the event with the car setup, derived by MPS, in a strong position which allowed a competent showing by both drivers in their respective qualifying sessions – the team’s Pro driver Scott Malvern setting the overall fastest GT4 lap time within the qualifying session.

Come race day Nick Jones yet again performed solidly, making no mistakes and handing over a damage free car to Scott Malvern after each of his stints, having battled with his AM competition valiantly.
Great strategy calls and faultless pit stops ensured that the team continuously competed towards the front of their class giving Scott Malvern the opportunity to show his class as he maximised his 100 allowable minutes on track to continuously be the top GT4 driver.

All of this culminated in a historic overall GT4 win for MPS and the Team Parker Racing squad and a prestigious Silverstone 500 winner’s trophy now proudly resides in drivers Nick Jones & Scott Malvern’s trophy cabinets.
